Neapolitan Crèche Ornament

Ornament developed from unknown artisans, Naples, Italy, Cr¨¨che, 1725-55, from The Art Institute of Chicago¡¯s collection. One of the finest examples outside of Naples, the Art Institute¡¯s spectacular cr¨¨che features over 200 figures¡ªincluding no less than 50 animals and 41 still-life objects¡ªconfigured in an ornate cabinet with a painted backdrop.
